This included the installation of an autoclave, boiler, wastewater interceptor and shredder for proper sterilization of medical waste before transferring to offsite disposal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-permitting\"><strong>Permitting<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Through a reputation for quality work, proper project management, and due diligence, with this project being no exception, EARTHRES was able to prove the facility redesign is in compliance with the required regulations. &nbsp;These efforts successfully earned the client a permit from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Environmental Protection Bureau of Waste Management for the processing of medical waste at its 40,000 sq. ft. building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:28px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignwide size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/earthres.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Medical-Waste-Facility-Design-and-Permitting-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1777\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.earthres.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Medical-Waste-Facility-Design-and-Permitting-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.earthres.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Medical-Waste-Facility-Design-and-Permitting-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.earthres.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Medical-Waste-Facility-Design-and-Permitting-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.earthres.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Medical-Waste-Facility-Design-and-Permitting-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.earthres.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Medical-Waste-Facility-Design-and-Permitting-2048x1152.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/www.earthres.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Medical-Waste-Facility-Design-and-Permitting-scaled.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:28px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-optimized-process\"><strong>Optimized Process<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Now permitted as both a medical waste treatment facility (utilizing an autoclave) and as a transfer station for medical, pharmaceutical and trace chemotherapy waste, this is a significant milestone for the client.&nbsp; &nbsp;Sharps Compliance is now able to more cost-effectively and efficiently process up to 82 tons of waste per day from their eleven\u2013state northeastern route-based and mailback customers. &nbsp;The facility will also serve as a distribution center for their mailback solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:27px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-results\">The Results<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Sharps Compliance is able to cost-effectively process up to 82 tons of medical waste per day from their 11 state Northeastern route-based and mailback customers and serve as a distribution center for their mailback solutions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Project: Medical Waste Facility Design &amp;
